Are you a professional, maybe a professional of a certain age, who's thinking of blogging?

Great! But, if you want other people to read your wise revelations, you have to junk the writing rules you learned from your high school English teacher.

Long, well-crafted essays are simply skipped over by time-hording Internet readers. They don't appreciate perfectly constructed sentences and carefully balanced arguments. They're just not that into you.

The new Federal laws passed by Congress threaten some of the banks most lucrative practices, including letting you use your debit cards when there is no money in your account.

Starting in August, banks will not be able to allow you to overdraw your account for a fee, unless you have asked for this service. So, most banks are trying very hard to get you to ask.

Some are using scare tactics to keep you paying their $35 fees (see example letters). Other institutions are simply asking if you want the service. Now is the time to consider whether the service is now you're willing to pay for.
