Dear Galen Workman,
| So You Think You Need a Business Blog? |
 |
Is peer group pressure getting you to
consider starting a business blog? Convinced
that all the cool companies are blogging?
There are many blogging options which provide
great ways for you to communicate with your
clients and friends. You can set up a blog on
a third-party hosting service that charges $0
a year, or you can add a blog to your
existing site.
The challenge with blogs is that they require
ongoing work by the business owner. Someone
has to write the articles!
Here are some ideas of how to start a trial
blog before you commit your time and money.

| Summer Phishing at the IRS |
 |
Last week the Internal Revenue Service put
out a warning that identity thieves are
working hard this summer to phish
information from tax payers.
Some of the bogus emails offer "Making Work
Pay" refunds, inheritance and lottery
notifications, and phony tax refunds. The
Feds ask you to remember that the IRS does
not discuss tax account matters with
taxpayers by e-mail.
The IRS gives 6 signs to watch for to spot
scams in emails and they also tell you what
to do if you suspect something phishy.
And, remember, just because an email or website
has the IRS logo on it, that doesn't
guarantee that the site is genuine!

How to Use Smoke and Mirrors to Grow Your Business |
|
|
|
Often a deal can be won or lost on how big
people perceive your company to be. For
many customers size equates to how
professional and solid a business is.
Conjuring up the impression that your
business is bigger than perhaps it really is
an important trick to master.
Looking bigger can be inexpensive and
painless. It can be as simple as avoiding
certain techniques that unnecessarily tag
your business as unprofessional or small.
Read the tips in the article below, and
please contact Sterck Kulik O'Neill for
specific help with your business development
strategy.
