  • Customer Satisfaction in 7 Steps
    Happy Woman

It's not just retail stores that need to keep their clients happy in these economic times. Every business needs to develop strategies to ensure that their current customers keep coming back.

Even nerd-infested industries like information technology need to work on customer satisfaction. We non-geeks can grow our business by following the 7 steps one web designer uses to make his client's satisfied.

The Right Ways to Slim Your Payroll
    Empty Office Chair

In soft economic times cutting back on payroll usually means laying off employees.

As a tactic it works, but this strategy reduces your productivity and may end up costing you in the long run.

We know ways to slim your payroll burden without layoffs.

    Slay What You Mean
    "I Said What??"

"The tropical weather is really here. Wish you were beautiful," is an example of a classic Freudian slip.

Our best business advice on these danger-laden malapropisms is: "Don't make them!" But, if you do surprise yourself with some unintentional vocal truth, at least know you're not alone.

Enjoy this urban legend collection of family business misstatements.

How to Work the 2-2-2 Principle of Email
    Sending email

The first 2 words of your email has 2 seconds to tell your reader why it's important today.

One real-world company got a 35% increase in event attendance just by changing its email subject line.

Here are professional ideas to get your messages read. And, be sure to follow the cautions in sidebar at the bottom to keep your emails out of the common spam filters.

    1. Make Major Purchases.

On Wednesday the California state sales tax will increase by 1%. If you're planning on buying a car, big-screen TV, new carpet, or other major purchase, do it this weekend and save 1%. That could be $300 on a new hybrid vehicle and $10's of dollars on household items.

    2. Send Your Tax Organizer to Sterck Kulik O'Neill.

If you haven't already submitted your financial information, please get your tax info together over the weekend and send it in. This will give us time to review your situation and prepare your return before the deadline.

The income tax deadline, April 15th, comes right after Easter this year.

If you are planning a spring break trip with your family please let us know how to reach you with any last-minute questions -- and tell us how to obtain the signatures we need to file your return!
