  • What Kind of Entity Should Your Business Be?

Selecting how your business is organized has important consequences for your legal liability, taxes, and operation. In July we provided information from CPA's on choosing your business structure.

This month we have found more information for you on the topic... this time from attorneys.

These sources give good general ideas. And, please talk to Sterck Kulik O'Neill and legal professionals for advice for your specific situation.

Management Lessons from a Car Wash Guy

Jeff was never going to use this small business again. But, he didn't expect the lowly car wash guy's reaction to his complaint. Now Jeff is ready to go back and rent a car from the business again.

The rental company had a system for capturing and acting on customer feedback. They empowered their employees appropriately, too.

Are We a "10" in Your Book?

Several months ago many clients received a letter asking if they would be willing to discuss their experience with our firm with American Ratings Corporation, an independent survey company. The survey calls started this month, and random clients are still being phoned.

In the past many clients rated their satisfaction with our firm as "10" on a 10-point scale. We appreciate that! Our goal is to provide 10-level service to all of our clients.

The detailed comments given to American Ratings Corporation are not shared with us, and we would like to give our clients the opportunity to tell us directly why they rated us a "10" -- or what we need to do to earn the "10". Please click to take an anonymous survey.

    Make it to the Inbox

Will your message to clients and prospects be read, or will it be clicked into the trash can or deleted as spam?

Electronic newsletters (like this Accounting Educator) have a tough row to hoe before they are allowed into recipients' in-boxes.

We choose our articles based on past client surveys, and try to provide a wide range of helpful information. We have received many compliments about the newsletter, yet we still offer opt-out links that really work at the bottom of each of our messages in case someone wants a break from their subscription.

How about your business? Are your messages getting to your correspondents' in-boxes?
